Signosis has been awarded as a member of consortiums two new collaborative projects following the submission of proposals to the most recent EU Framework Programme 7, Science in Society work programme.
The first project is entitled “Governance of REsponsible innovATion” (GREAT), with a EU contribution of 1,780,571 Euros and it will investigate current practices in responsible research and innovation and develop a sound theoretical approach to analyse, compare, evaluate and improve these practices. Furthermore, GREAT will test and develop this approach continuously with ongoing projects to assure that (theoretical) development of any framework is attached closely to the current landscape of research and development practice. The Consortium for the implementation of this project is led by the University of Namur (Computer Science Department) and apart from Signosis, it is formed by the following members: De Montfort University (UK), University College Dublin (Ireland), Oxford University (UK), Technical Research Centre of Finland, Paris Descartes University (France).
The second project is entitled “Global Model and Observatory for International Responsible Research and Innovation Coordination” (RESPONSIBILITY), with a EU contribution of 1,484,427 Euros. The project aims to create a network of stakeholders that would adopt and diffuse a common understanding in Responsible Research and Innovation between different actors in Europe and around the globe. In doing so it will develop a model and provide a tool, the RESPONSIBILITY Observatory, involving the societal, policy and research stakeholders to these activities. The project team consists of a consortium of thirteen companies, universities, and research institutes from Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Austria, Cyprus, Chile, Japan and Malaysia and will be coordinated by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft from Germany.
