The European Commission has awarded a consortium that includes Signosis an FP7 project, called METPEX.  METPEX stands for MEasurement Tool to determine the quality of Passenger EXperience and is a 36-month research project, which will receive a three-million-euro grant. It will develop an inclusive passenger experience measurement tool for European transport providers, passenger groups and municipalities validated through its use across eight cities of varying transport complexity.  Its development will be informed by the consortium’s understanding that data collection methods themselves have to be inclusive. The data collected will enable the creation and dissemination of service quality and accessibility benchmark indicators.  The execution of the work will involve 16 participants, including higher education institutes and businesses, representing 12 European countries. METPEX will be coordinated by the University of Coventry (UK) and its official date of commencement is October 1, 2012.
